If you hadn’t noticed from the darker mornings, shorter days and colder nights, autumn is officially here!
But it’s not all doom and gloom, we promise. If you’re visiting Center Parcs for a UK holiday this season, there are some great activities to enjoy among the background of golden leaves and early sunsets.
But don’t just take our word for it, see some of these activities through the eyes – and cameras – of our guests.
If you have a need for speed and a penchant for camo gear, Quad Biking is the ideal activity for you. Available at Whinfell, Sherwood, Longleat and Elveden Forest. Booked a break already? Give it a try.
A great activity between family and friends, available to book at all five Villages. Don’t worry if those autumn showers hit, you’re stood safely under a canopy – so you can’t blame inclement weather for your poor aim!
Canoeing on the lake
Make the most of the Watersports Lake before it goes into hibernation for the winter. Whinfell, Sherwood, Elveden and Longleat Forests offer tuition, while all Villages offer craft hire for a paddle out with your family. Whichever you choose, book before your visit to ensure there’s no waterworks.
Ride the Tornado
If the air is particularly chilly or you fancy a break from the great outdoors, the Subtropical Swimming Paradise is heated to 29.5˚c all year round. There’s a unique water ride at every Village, but here’s a clip of the wet and wild Tornado at Woburn Forest.
Bike ride through the forest
Explore the Village during your autumn short break the best way possible – on two wheels! You can bring your own cycles and hit our woodland trails, or you can hire them from the Cycle Centre. With a range of bikes for children, adults and groups, as well as accessories, the whole family can enjoy a ride out together.
Red squirrel spotting
Autumn is a great time to spot Whinfell Forest’s favourite wildlife friends – red squirrels! Catch the auburn critters before they nestle in for the winter; the best way to see them is by taking part in the Red Squirrel Adventure. Suitable for guests aged 2 years and above, it’s a great way to learn about our red squirrel conservation, with some fun facts along the way and a red squirrel toy at the end.
