William Shakespeare once said: ‘Give every man thy ear, but few thy voice’, and if you’ve seen our new TV advert you may indeed be wondering whose voice you can hear. Well, I can reveal it is in fact Matthew MacFadyen, the BAFTA-award winning British actor.

Best known for his roles as an MI5 intelligence officer in Spooks and Mr Darcy (swoon) in Pride and Prejudice, the Norfolk-born actor most recently appeared in BBC series Ripper Street as Detective Inspector Edmund Reid. In our latest TV commercial, which premiered on Christmas Day during the wonderful Downton Abbey, MacFadyen gently echoes the line: ‘Your family. Your time.’

The father of three and husband to former Spooks co-star Keely Hawes provided the voiceover on our advert in 2007; which was his very first voiceover and we are delighted to be working with him again.

Matthew is appearing in the West End until March at the Duke of York’s Theatre as P.G. Wodehouse’s Jeeves alongside Stephen Mangan, who will play Wooster, in the world premiere of Perfect Nonsense.
