Annual ceremony also sees youngster win Center Parcs-sponsored Super Sibling Award

Best-holiday-provider-centeCenter Parcs has been awarded as the Best Holiday Provider in the annual Tommy’s Baby Friendly Awards.

The awards, in association with Bounty, took place at the Landmark Hotel in London last week and celebrate the products and services that make family life easier for parents. This year more than 27,000 mums and dads voted for their favourite family-friendly companies and we’re so proud to be awarded for the 11th consecutive year in this category.

Helen Horner, Head of Brand at Center Parcs says: “We are delighted to be crowned Best Family Holiday Provider, it’s a perfect accolade for all our teams who work tirelessly across the Villages to ensure that parents with babies and young children staying on a break have a really special, hassle-free experience. The nominees in this category were extremely strong, which make it a real honour and privilege that families have voted Center Parcs for the 11th consecutive year.”

Super sibling
Tommy’s is a charity very close to our hearts that, since 1995, has funded research into stillbirth, premature pregnancies and miscarriage, as well as being a vital source of information for parents-to-be. To support their work, we sponsor the Super Sibling Award, which honours the courage and support shown by a brother or sister of a little one born too soon.

The winner of this year’s Super Sibling Award was Alfie Riley, who received his prize from World Cup 2003 winner, rugby star Will Greenwood. Alfie was nominated by his mum, Michelle, to praise how he coped with the premature arrival of his youngest brother Oliver who passed away at just 39 days old in January, 2012. Oliver was born 13 weeks prematurely after Michelle contracted a water infection and he developed necrotising enterocolitis Alfie visited Oliver in hospital and was careful not to touch any wires or tubes and did not have to be told to be gentle.

Michelle says: “Alfie was only two at the time, but he remembers Oliver so well and often speaks about him. Alfie has given me so much support during my darkest days after losing Oliver; his smiles and cheekiness lifted me up and if it wasn’t for him I don’t know how I would have made it here today.”
