Today is a big day.
We have officially submitted a planning application for our sixth Village, Center Parcs Longford Forest, in Ireland.
Less than two years since we opened our fifth Village, Woburn Forest in Bedfordshire, we have submitted a formal planning application for the site at Newcastle Wood, County Longford.
The application outlines our proposals to transform 395 acres of woodland into a €233m development which will have a profound effect on the Irish economy, adding €1 billion to the country’s economy over a 20 year period, creating 750 jobs during construction and 1,000 permanent jobs once open.
The proposals for Center Parcs Longford Forest include the construction of 470 Lodges including luxury Treehouses, 30 apartments, an Aqua Sana Spa, lake, a range of restaurants and shops and, of course, the iconic Subtropical Swimming Paradise.
Following today’s application, there will now be a five-week period of consultation, during which time the plans are on public display in County Longford. Subject to receiving satisfactory planning permission, Longford Forest could to guests in 2019.
