Heading to the Subtropical Swimming Paradise? Take a look at all these activities you can try

There are lots of activities to try at the Subtropical Swimming Paradise or jump back into if you’ve done them before.

Mermaids and Sharks

For who: 6-12 years

Where: All villages

What’s it all about: Always wanted to be a mermaid or a shark? After pulling on your choice of mermaid or shark fin, learn how to kick, twist and glide your way through the shallow waters. Feeling brave? Try diving for treasure on the ‘ocean floor’ and see what you can discover.

Swim Pups

For who: 3 months – 2 years and 2-4 years

Where: All villages

What’s it all about: Watch your little ones take to the water in this 30-minute activity led by an STA instructor. Our instructor will help them discover the essential swimming skills by using a range of exciting games to help them build their confidence and learn a skill for life.

Aqua Jetting

For who: 8 years +

Where: All villages

What’s it all about: Embark on an exciting aquatic adventure as you twist, turn and dive like a fish using our exhilarating miniature submersibles. If you’ve never used a Seadoo before, take the bait: we guarantee you’ll be hooked.

Scuba Diving

For who: 10 years +

Where: Sherwood Forest, Longleat Forest and Elveden Forest (Try Scuba only)

What’s it all about: Try Scuba is for those who are intrigued by the underwater world and this is the perfect place to start as you’ll get a taste of all the basic diving skills. Deeper into Diving gets you closer to a PADI qualification by learning more about how to look after yourself in simple, fun and easily attainable stages under the water. You’ll need recent Scuba experience to take on the Deeper into Diving session.


For who: 8 years +

Where: Sherwood Forest, Elveden Forest, Longleat Forest and Whinfell Forest

What’s it all about: Our experienced tutors will teach you all the techniques you need to explore sea life on your next trip abroad. It is accessible to anyone – young or old – and is an enjoyable way to get the whole family involved. Participants must be able to swim unaided for 25 metres to take part in this activity.

Mini Jet Skis

For who: 3-7 years

Where: All villages

What’s it all about: An exciting opportunity for young children to experience the thrill of riding a mini jet ski in the safety of a pool environment. There’s an introduction and practise session, followed by fun challenges – all topped off with a race to the finish.
