We look forward to welcoming you and your family back to our car-light villages, perfect for cycling with your family. In the meantime, now is a great time to cycle and explore near your home.
Cycling is a well-loved activity that’s enjoyed by millions of people across the UK and is not only an incredible way to get around, but it is also brilliant fun.
Bike Week is the annual celebration of everything that’s wonderful about cycling. It’s a time to remind ourselves of all the positives that riding a bike can bring, including our own health and wellbeing, the theme of this year’s event.
Although things are a little different with no group rides this year, more people are out on their bikes, from families making use of their daily exercise allowance to key workers avoiding public transport, we want to capitalise on that renewed interest.
During Bike Week, Cycling UK are focusing on #7daysofcycling, where over seven days we look at ways you can experience cycling, encouraging people to make at least one cycle trip – but seven in a row if you can:
1. Sunday 7 June
Be vocal – shout about your love for cycling
2. Monday 8 June
Be a healthy – cycling can transform your health. Are you feeling fitter after getting out on your bike?
3. Tuesday 9 June
Be unique – take on a new challenge. Have you ever tried cycling yoga? Do something different today.
4. Wednesday 10 June
Be inspired – try something different. Do you have a favourite place outdoors that inspires you?
5. Thursday 11 June
Be a hero – support the vulnerable with shopping deliveries. Stand up and clap all the NHS workers cycling to work.
6. Friday 12 June
Go green – cycling reduces emissions, so why not calculate your journeys using a carbon calculator! Your impact is amazing.
7. Saturday 13 June
Go BIG – take on your biggest cycle adventure yet with a bigger, longer ride or join our pride ride…
We hope to see you and your family at the Cycle Centre soon.
