This week saw a wheely big milestone ahead of the Woburn Forest opening, with more than 2,000 bikes being delivered to the newly completed Cycle Centre. As more than 20 per cent of guests hire a bike during their stay – with many more bringing their own – cycling has become synonymous with Center Parcs; the delivery will no doubt help to breathe life into the Village which has thus far been a vision of bricks and mortar.
The 2,300 bikes arrived in boxes ready to be unpacked, assembled and checked. Once the new Village has opened, each bike will be continually cared for and maintained by a team of 20 staff.
Get a handle on the size of this project with these facts:
• The average Center Parcs bike will travel approximately 1,000 miles each year
• Guests can also hire Duets, Trikes, Mobility Scooters, Child Seats, Trailers and Tag a Longs
• Center Parcs Woburn Forest have 2,300 cycles for their guests and 300 cycles for the site team including Housekeepers and Technical Services
• The most cycles built in one day by the team at Woburn Forest currently stands at 182
Center Parcs Woburn Forest is on track for opening in spring 2014 and will offer short breaks to families, couples and friends across the UK, with a majority of guests expected from London and the South East. Book your break here.
