Fall head over heels for Center Parcs

The weekend of pink hearts, red roses and soft centres is almost upon us. Why not fall in love with Center Parcs this Valentine's Day?

Whether you’re an anti-Valentine’s minimalist or an all-out amore addict, there is one thing we can all agree on: spending time with the person you love is brilliant. And if that time is a long weekend away in the heart of hundreds of acres of natural woodland, miles from the rat race and surrounded by stunning scenery, all the better.

Center Parcs is the perfect place for a romantic couple’s retreat for Valentine’s Day, or any time of year. To help you see yourself here, we have put together an itinerary to show you how you and your significant other can relax and reconnect at any one of our five UK Villages.

Stretch your break out as long as possible by taking the day off work to arrive from 10am and explore the Village before accessing your accommodation from 3pm. Leave all the stress of everyday life at the gate and settle into your luxury accommodation. Our hotel rooms and apartments are perfect for couples – they offer all the luxuries and conveniences of a hotel stay in the heart of the forest. The hotel at Woburn Forest boasts spectacular views over the lake, open-plan living and a convenient location close to Village amenities.

There is no need to worry about shopping for groceries to bring with you before your break, as ParcMarket, our on-Village shop, carries all your necessities, from fresh flowers to wine to toiletries. Pop in when you arrive to stock up for the weekend. Why not take a detour to Treats, our decadent sweet shop, and pick up a box of chocolates or handmade fudge for the evening?

Back in your room, relax together on your balcony as the stars come out over the canopy, and get ready for a weekend to remember. Forget about the hassle of cooking and treat yourselves to something delicious from our take-away service, Dining In, delivered right to your room (free delivery on Fridays and Mondays!). With Indian, Chinese and pizza on offer, there won’t even be the usual disagreement over what to order!

Oh, and polish off those chocolates of course.

Enjoy a long, lazy lie-in among the peace and tranquillity of the forest. When the feeling takes you (or your stomach starts rumbling), stroll over to The Pancake House, a Center Parcs institution, for a stack of fluffy American pancakes. They’re the perfect way to start the day and you definitely won’t want to share.

Hire bikes from the Cycle Centre (or you could bring your own if you prefer) and spend the morning on a couple’s bike ride through the forest, exploring the woodland trails and spotting the array of wildlife – if you visit Whinfell Forest, you may even come across the rare red squirrels.

In the afternoon, why not take a rowing boat out onto the lake? It is the perfect way to while away a couple of hours, enjoying the serenity of the calm water, the surrounding woodland and the birds flying overhead.

The Subtropical Swimming Paradise is open until 9pm every day, has indoor and outdoor pools and is heated to a balmy 29.5C all year round, so head down there once the sun sets for a magical swim under the stars.

Spend Sunday enjoying the ultimate indulgence – an entire day at Aqua Sana Spa. There are many different experience rooms that you can wander between at your leisure, discovering your favourites (between 14 and 24 separate rooms, depending on the Village). Each one uses different sensory experiences – temperature, perfumes, minerals, lights and salts – to relax and invigorate you.

Grab a light lunch at Vitalé Café Bar, where you can choose from are salads, flatbreads and other healthy Mediterranean favourites.

After lunch, why not indulge in a couple’s spa treatment together? The Dual Treatment Bliss is popular with couples as it allows you to share time with someone close to you and enjoy harmonising treatments in our specially designed two-person rooms. Bliss begins with a welcoming foot ritual, followed by a full body Hawaiian wave massage.

The Aqua Sana Spa is an intimate, romantic place for couples to unwind together – but don’t just take our word for it.

After a long day of pampering, book a table at one of our restaurants for the evening. Rajinda Pradesh offers sophisticated, contemporary Indian cuisine in a stylish dining space, perfect for a romantic meal for two.

Enjoy one last treat before you leave – breakfast at Café Rouge. Will it be the signature French toast with blueberry compote and crème fraiche or a rich eggs benedict to start the day?

Check out and head home thoroughly relaxed, rejuvenated and reconnected.

I am one of Karen’s party and second on the left on the Segway. On our first visit all those years ago I was very pleasantly surprised to find the solitude of the lodge amongst a forest of very tall trees with birds chirping away and the sounds of laughter coming from distant areas of this magical place. To open the patio door and not see your neighbour’s even though we were closely staggered amongst the trees we still couldn’t see each other. The only visitors to our lodge were quacking ducks which wandered in each morning ( only if you left the patio door opened) to say hello and back out again. Another visitor to our garden was a hefty Badger who seemed to mind his own business and toddle on his way, then of course wild rabbits frisking and frolicking as far as the eye could see. I first came to Centre parks feeling so stressed out with two young kids, no family support and dying for some “ME” time, and as the eldest of our group was feeling it a bit more. My favorite time was at the Aqua Sana, all those lovely steam and relaxation rooms, fab treatments, hence I was in Heaven. As soon as we hit Centre Parks, we would do our shop in the Supermarket, collect our bikes, Book all our activity’s, treatments and restaurants. We cycled to each of our activity’s every day or had a time out solo cycle round the whole park in the sunshine. We have tried most of what Cantre Parks had to offer, Tennis, Badminton, Shooting, archery, Segway, Bowling and pack in as much on our weekend away and we keep coming back for more. We are lucky to have our own Chef Sue Butcher who insists on doing all the cooking and she doesn’t get any arguments from us, so each morning we would have a champagne breakfast, do our activity after inspecting Loraine’s spreadsheet on the wall ( she kept us organised) and return to a buffet for Lunch, followed later by either a meal out or a tasty meal cooked by Sue with some wine and great conversation. Thank you Centre parks. x
