Your summer at Center Parcs to-do list

Body Content

The Center Parcs forests are spectacular all year round, but we can’t deny that some of our activities really shine in the height of summer. There’s nothing quite like cruising around the lake while the water sparkles, or building and defending your own fortress in the forest in the glorious sunshine.

So here are our top picks for things to do so you can make the most of your summer family break this year – plus a few wet weather ideas in case it all doesn’t go to plan!

Take to the lake

When the sun is out, the lake is certainly the place to be! You can find something fun for every member of the family and enjoy hours of fun in the sun. If you’re a thrill seeker, AquaParc is the perfect way to let out your adventurous side! Find your way across the obstacles and jump, splash and climb your way through beams, bubbles, and slides. Available at Longleat Forest, Elveden Forest and Longford Forest.

If you still want a bit of action but don’t fancy taking a dip, both grown-ups and children can try our Katakanu Hire and race across the lake! Available at all locations.

Or if you’re looking to relax in style, hire one of our Electric Boats. With all the hard work taken away, cruise along in comfort and take in the views of the forest.

Little ones can set sail with Mini Captain’s Boat Hire where they’ll board one of our tiny trawlers for a swashbuckling adventure on the water! Available at Elveden Forest, Sherwood Forest and Longford Forest.

Summer adventures

We’ve got plenty of outdoor activities that are perfect for summertime! If you’re looking for something exhilarating, head to our Outdoor Activity Centre. Why not try out the Quad Bike Safari or Junior Quads for younger thrill-seekers (ages 6-11)? Get to grips with your quad bikes and then test out your new-found skills on our purpose-built track for an adrenaline-fuelled adventure.

Take a trip to the Cycle Centre and explore our glorious woodland on two wheels. We recommend pre-booking your cycles in advance as they’re very popular, and ensuring that you wear a helmet. If you are hiring a cycle, a helmet will be included free of charge with your hire.

Summer means longer days and more sunshine, and even more opportunities to spot wildlife. Visit the Rangers Lodge to see what animals you can find in the forest on a Daytime Nature Walk.  Create a haven for the birds, butterflies or creepy crawlies in your garden by taking part in the Build a Nature House activity, then take your creation home and watch the wildlife flourish!

Save it for a rainy day

When the British weather doesn’t go to plan, it doesn’t mean all the fun has to stop! Visit the Pottery Painting Studio, where you can choose from a wide range of pottery and let your creativity run wild with the help of our brushes and paints. Once you’re finished, we’ll professionally fire and glaze it for you to take home as a memento.

Of course, if the weather takes a turn then simply head to the Subtropical Swimming Paradise, our incredible water park heated to 29.5c all year round! With rides and slides, wave pools, Wild Water Rapids and much more, there’s plenty to keep all ages entertained, whatever the weather!

Or if you’re feeling sporty, head to Sports Plaza, where you’ll find fun activities for the whole family. Battle head-to-head in a game of Bowling and see who will score a strike, team up for a game of Badminton, or head to the heights in the Indoor Climbing Adventure. Remember to pre-book your activities to avoid missing out!

A bite to eat

Refuel with a bite to eat at our delicious range of restaurants and enjoy dishes from around the world. Why not sit out in the sunshine and enjoy alfresco dining while taking in the forest and lakeside views? If you’re craving something sweet after all those activities, treat your little ones (and yourself) to an ice cream from Treats - which flavour will you try?

Pop to ParcMarket and buy all the delicious ingredients you need for the perfect barbecue. Sit on your lodge patio with that mouth-watering barbecue food smell filling the summer air and enjoy stunning forest views, all from the comfort of your lodge.
