A spook-tacular time of year

Body Content

Pumpkin carving, trick or treating and ghostly fancy dress making – Halloween is a terrific time of year. Whether you are spending the spooky season at home or on a break at Center Parcs, we have lots of fun ideas to get you in the spirit for Halloween.

The best dressed

Little Dracula’s, cute pumpkins and witches with their broomsticks - who doesn’t love dressing up their little ones. Don’t worry if you have left buying a costume too late, the white bed sheet and two holes for eyes is always a classic! Our villages Sherwood and Woburn Forest have a Grand Halloween Party you can attend, with a prize for the best dressed and even the grown ups can get involved too.

Gruesome treats

Create a Halloween buffet for everyone to tuck into from hot dogs as fingers to spaghetti worms and green jelly slime. Check out some of our easy recipes to make your buffet spread one to remember:

Decorative Halloween cupcakes recipe – running low on time? Pre-buy plain cupcakes and add themed decoration yourself – no one will need to know.

Spooky spider pizza recipe – have the little ones giggling with this simple buffet staple.

If you are on a break with us, why not try our Halloween Cupcakes activity? You can take your creations back to your lodge for a sweet treat.

Creative decorations

Do you go all out when it comes to decorating your house? Why not make your decorations extra special this year and make them yourself - it’s a fun activity the whole family could do together. You could make paper bunting in the shape of ghosts, spiders or pumpkins, use up old toilet roll tubes and draw spooky faces on them or turn them into bats or why not do your own version of our Halloween Monster Making activity at home and create your own monster wreath for the door? The trick or treaters will love it!

Party games

Bobbing apples, piñata, musical chairs – the list goes on. You could even do a pumpkin carving competition and see who can create the best pumpkin lantern. On a break? Join in with Halloween Pumpkin Fun, where you’ll find pumpkins on a spook-tacular trail and finish with carving your very own. Take it back to your lodge and pop in the window or by your lodge door for all your fellow guests to see.

A Halloween party isn’t complete without a ghostly playlist to dance to! See our very own Halloween Hits on Spotify for a spooky soundtrack to your break. Bust out your best moves to Monster Mash, Ghostbusters and Thriller!
