Family festive celebrations

Get into the swing of the festivities with our bucket list on how to make the most of this festive season. Christmas is about simply spending quality time with loved ones and creating treasured family memories together – engage in some playful family rivalry as you battle it out on a games night or try out some of our delicious buffet recipe ideas.

Games night

Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer? Or how about a family board game? You can’t beat a family games night all snuggled up in front of a roaring fire. Test your general knowledge and unleash your competitive streak as you battle head-to-head to be crowned the ultimate family champion. One festive crowd pleaser is a Scavenger Hunt: Christmas edition. Set festive tasks the whole family can get involved in, such as “first person to find and put on a bobble hat! You have 20 seconds, time starts now…” or “first person to grab a bauble off the tree and bring it to me wins!”. We’ve created some special festive games to fill your games night with fun and laughter:

  • Unscramble these letters, what Christmas item does it spell? NAEGL
  • Can you name these Christmas songs, from just the emojis?

Buffet food ideas

Everyone’s favourite part of Christmas…the food! From a Christmas dinner to a buffet or party treats, food plays a starring role at Christmas. If you’re hosting a family games night or nibbles with friends, we have plenty of ideas for all occasions – so tie up your apron, grab your little helpers and get the whole family cooking! Here is a list of family friendly recipes to make with your little ones:

Why not string up some fairy lights in your home and have your own light trail leading you to some delicious festive warmers? Create a delicious hot dog smothered in ketchup and mustard or dig into a pulled pork brisket roll. If you have a sweet tooth, treat yourself to a festive fayre favourite - a waffle or churros (or both!) with chocolate dipping sauce. Then finish it off with the ultimate hot chocolate topped with cream and marshmallows. You’ll create your very own festive winter wonderland feast in no time.

From classic Christmas songs to the little ones’ favourites, we will have you rocking around the Christmas tree in no time. Can you hit the high notes in ‘All I want for Christmas is you’ or duet ‘Baby, its cold outside’? Have your own Christmas disco to our Spotify playlist or do a spot of family karaoke: the perfect way to bring the family together and let your hair down this Christmas.
